Pacific Pathways: A Value Added Approach to U.S. Strategic Objectives in the Pacific

Abstract

The role of Pacific Pathways is to strengthen relationships with allies and partners while building a broader set of readiness outcomes for all participating forces and providing crisis response options to the combatant commander. In achieving this role, Pacific Pathways could not rely on forward basing as a means. Therefore, personnel and equipment are placed on Military Sealift Command vessels and transported from engagement to engagement.
