Combined Kinetic and Non-Kinetic Approaches in Defeating the Sword of God

Abstract

The Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) does not need to find new solutions to address the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG). The GRP only has to look back in the past and examine its different strategies that were proven effective against the ASG. After examining the strategies implemented by the past administrations of the Philippines, one can therefore surmised that the most effective strategy to defeat the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) is a combination of calibrated kinetic action and dedicated non-kinetic approach employed by a well-trained and well equipped military that is supported by a legal action agency and concerted agencies of the government.
