Red Lines and Responsibility: It's Time for the United States to Lead the Charge in Making the Responsibility to Protect an International Priority

Abstract

In light of recent global atrocities, specifically the repeated chemical bombing attacks against civilian populations within Syria, and the inadequate international response to halt these grave mass atrocity crimes, the United States must use its diplomatic power and influence to lead the international community in a renewed commitment to the principles of the R2P doctrine.
