The Jamaica-US Relations: Impact of the Cold War on Jamaica 1960-1984

Abstract

Jamaica, a small nation state in the western Caribbean, was far removed from the front-lines of the Cold War but the impact on the nation in its early stages of development as an independent state was significant. The paper examines the Jamaica-US relations over the period 1960 -1984 and the effect of Cold War politics on Jamaica.
