Review of Overtime Practices and Controls At Selected Installations in the Department of Defense

Abstract

Thi8 review was made at the request of the House Committee on Post Office and Civil Service. The committee asked us to (1) analyze managements use of overtime in selected departments and agencies to determine if the use is justified and necessary, (2) examine the use and feasibility of overtime alternatives, and (3) evaluate the adequacy of overtime control systems.
