Domestic Civil-Military Cooperation

Abstract

The Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) is an integral part of the overall military mission. CIMIC is normally conducted by the military forces, outside of their countries, when they have units deployed abroad for any reason. CIMIC assists the military forces in its full spectrum of Civil-Military Interaction (CMI). This paper discusses and analyzes the circumstances, the places, the ways, means, and the aims of conducting an effective Domestic CIMIC. Furthermore, it discusses a case study by presenting and analyzing a tangible example of a profitable Domestic CIMIC project. Domestic CIMIC plays a major role in facilitating the military commanders mission, contributing in the Civil-Military Interaction, assisting in providing and maintaining the internal stability, enhancing the citizens resilience, and helping in achieving the national security system. However, an effective Domestic CIMIC requires a clear operating frame work, appropriate personnel, adequate and consistent training, and wise and convenient implantation strategies.
