Marine Air Ground Task Force Evolution in the Information Environment

Abstract

Learning from Gulf War era experiences with the Surveillance Reconnaissance and Intelligence Group (SRIG), the Marine Corps must ensure the newly created MEF Information Group (MIG) builds the necessary capabilities to conduct its assigned mission, provides clear command relationships to subordinate battalions in the MIG, and addresses command and control questions to ensure the MIG expands the strategic potential of a Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF).
