Acquisition Domain: Achieving Program Management Dominance Through Advanced Training

Abstract

This paper discusses the Air Force Military Program Management career progression training gap. It explains the currenttraining and certifications process. Then it looks at other Air Force career fields benchmarked advanced trainingschoolhouses. Finally, it makes the recommendation that in order to grow an elite cadre of Mid-Tier corps acquisitionProgram Managers, an advanced schoolhouse but be established. The acquisition workforce must keep up with the speedof its surrounding environment.
