Climate Change, Migration, and Revisionist Power Competition

Abstract

The thesis primarily focuses on global migration exacerbated by climate change and argues why this is likely to be the mostserious climate change-related threat. Several areas are examined in which the US and its allies are more vulnerable toclimate migration than revisionist powers of Russia and China. Also explained are ways in which Russia and Chinaexacerbate conditions leading to climate migration and exploit its negative effects. It is recommended that future strategiesshould recognize the threats from climate migration within the broader context of revisionist power competition, and tailorpriority actions to increase resilience and posture the military appropriately.
