Abstract

This thesis compares and contrasts the Union and Confederate Marine Corps from 1861-1865. The primary focus of the paper is on the organization, equipment, and employment of both forces. An assessment of the Union and Confederate Marine Corps is provided based on the information available and author's analysis.
