Additive Manufacturing: Extending Logistics Capabilities

Abstract

Additive Manufacturing is a way to address readiness issues in the Army. I propose some initiatives that will assist inexpanding the operationalization of AM that include; in-depth training for the junior NCO's and warrant officers at the schoolhouse and providing additional certification programs, enabling fabrication requests to be submitted on GCSS-A, andleveraging private industry to solve obsolescence problems and rapid prototyping request.
