Right Support Soldier in the Right Job: Options to Fill Special Forces Support-Personnel Positions

Abstract

The United States Army Special Forces requires support personnel to execute a variety of missions and currently a gapexists in the quality of Soldiers assigned in these support positions. An assessment and selection course is not feasible dueto the number of positions required to be filled. The Army can utilize initial entry accessions, intra-service recruiting andscreening, and a Group level combat course to fill the slots. The Army places the manning of Special Forces Groups as amain priority and needs to emplace systems to ensure the quality of personnel matches the quantity required.
