If Social Media Is a Weapon, the FBI Needs Digital Marksmanship: Information Literacy in the Digital Age

Abstract

As the digital landscape evolves, the FBI must enhance public-private sector partnerships to promote media literacy education and expand awareness of threats in the information domain. It will take a whole-of-society effort to stem the threat of harmful digital information and increase societal resilience to disinformation. The ability to stay ahead of this deception is critical to maintaining national security.
