Retrograde Operations

Abstract

In a conflict with a near peer adversary, commanders ought to maintain operational control of their unit's retrgrade. From 2012 to 2014, Marine Expeditionary Brigade-Afghanistan did not have operational control of Redeployment and Retrograde in support of Reset and Reconstitution Operations Group (R4OG). While the operation was successful, the Taliban did not present a significant threat to the mission.
