Abstract

As the US looks to great-power competition and future conflict, interoperability, and the cohesion it enables between the United States and its partners, becomes more important than it has in the last several decades. The Anti-Access Area-Denial(A2AD) technologies that China and Russia are currently fielding threaten to nullify conventional US deterrence. Under that new paradigm, A2Ad technologies provide a shield behind which adversaries can commit aggression and diminish US influence.
