Governing and Protecting Arctic Interests

Abstract

The greater accessibility of the Arctic and potential for both engagement and conflict continues to transform the region from a peripheral to an important American national interest. This thesis outline show modification of regional governance and protection of regional interests will leave the United States (U.S.) in better position to engage and defend its interests. The U.S. must implement policy changes that correspond with the reclassification of the regions national interest level.
