Countering China: Opportunities for the United States in Sri Lanka

Abstract

American efforts in Sri Lanka can be mutually beneficial to the Sri Lankan economy as well as future U.S. Navy operations in the Indian Ocean, provided the U.S. takes full account of the regional situation and follows the example of India's successful involvement in Sri Lanka.
