DOD ACQUISITION: Case Study of the MIISTAR Satellite Communications System

Abstract

The Military Strategic and Tactical Relay (MUTAR) Satellite Communications System is being developed jointly by the Air Force, Navy, andArmy. The system is designed to meet the minimum essential wartime communication needs of the President and Commanders-in-Chief to command and control our strategic and tactical forces through all levels of conflict.
