Detecting Cyber Attacks on 5G Infrastructures

Abstract

How is 5G different. To the consumer: Higher volume - 100x devices, Heterogenity of devices, Lower latency (less than 1 millisecond vs 30 ms), Higher bandwidth 10Gbps vs 100Mbps, Lower client power (10 yr IoT battery life). To the provider: Systems mostly software vs hardware, Vastly more towers (shorter ranges tilde300 m vs tilde30 km), More complicated algorithms, Many different frequencies, Use of cloud services rather than dedicated servers.
