MEF Innovation Team (MIT): Addressing MEF's Complex Problems

Abstract

With the private sector out-pacing defense innovation, the speed of technology and business are driving future warfare considerations. If technology corporations are driving the speed of the future of warfare, then appreciating design thinking's business model applicability to military strategy shapes how the Marine Corps responds to uncertain operating environments over the next several decades. An opportunity to rapidly discover and deliver emerging technologies is through the creation of the Marine Expeditionary Forces (MEF) Innovation Team (MIT) that uses design thinking to advance geographically-based Marine concepts that counter future warfare challenges.
