Procurement: Navy Implementation of the Spare Parts Initiatives

Abstract

In response to your request, we have assessed the Department of Defenses (DODS) progress in implementing its spare parts initiatives. The Secretary of Defense announced the initiatives in July and August1983 to improve the procurement of spare parts. A more detailed discussion of these initiatives and the results of our review are provided in the appendixes.
