Insensitive Munitions (IM) Technologies and Implementation of New Designs

Abstract

In order to meet arising threats, current munitions development goals are transitioning from providing safer munitions to providing higher performance. The improvement of insensitive munitions response does not necessarily mean a reduction in performance, and, in some cases, performance actually improves. This paper will review some of these technologies and the opportunities offered by the implementation of new designs.
