The Impact of Brief Interventions on Functioning Among those Demonstrating Anxiety, Depressive, and Adjustment Disorder Symptoms in Primary Care: The Effectiveness of the Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) Model

Abstract

Objective: The high prevalence of anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders are tied to deleterious individual, fiscal, and organizational consequences. A growing method of treatment is the integration of behavioral health providers into the primary care setting, where half of individuals already present to seek care. Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) is one model of treatment in which behavioral health consultants (BHC) work directly with primary care providers to enhance a holistic approach to health care in a primary care clinic.
