Management Improvements Needed In the Review and Evaluation of Applications to Construct and Operate Nuclear Power Plants

Abstract

GAO believes that the efficiency of the review process could be improved by establishing more specific requirements as to the type, depth, and format of information to be included in applications. This would minimize the amount of missing information and would facilitate the identification of missing items by the review staff.
