Increasing Breast Cancer Screening at the Gateway Bulverde Clinic, Joint Base San Antonio

Abstract

Although the use of mammography for breast cancer screening is deemed useful in decreasing mortality, more than 30% of women were noted to be inadequately screened (Stoll et al., 2015). The goal was to bring awareness to and increase knowledge of breast cancer screening to the female population of GBC. The group did so by emphasizing the ease and importance of obtaining mammography appointments as well assetting up reminders for women who were due or past due, in the hope of decreasing mortality rates from breast cancer.
