Evaluation of Vitamin D Deficiency, Dental Caries, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease within the Active Duty Population

Abstract

Vitamin D plays an important role in the development of adult teeth, and thus plays a role in the development of Dental Caries. Patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are known to have low vitamin D levels associated with disease activity. This study proposes to examine the association between Vitamin D levels and Dental Caries in the Active Duty IBD population.
