Evaluation of Extra-canal Apical Tissue Pressure Generated by the Gentle Wave System Compared to Three Traditional Irrigation Devices

Abstract

During endodontic procedures, excessive positive apical pressure could result inperiradicular extrusion of irrigants. This study compared pressures created at the level of the apical foramen when using four irrigant delivery devices: Max-I Probe (side-vented needle), NaviTip(open-ended needle), EndoVac (microcannula) and the GentleWave System.
