Abstract

The Climate Related to Sexual Violence and Gender Discrimination in the Active Component: Findings From the 2021 Workplace and Gender Relations Survey of Military Members report presents findings from the 2021 Workplace and Gender Relations Survey of Military Members (2021 WGRA). The purpose of the 2021 WGRA is to provide the official prevalence estimates for unwanted sexual contact, sexual harassment, and gender discrimination among military members; assess attitudes and perceptions about personnel programs and policies designed to reduce the occurrence of these unwanted behaviors; and, to provide assessments of the military's gender relations climate. The 2021 WGRA included measures for several climate factors associated with risk for sexual assault victimization, including workplace hostility, tolerance for tolerance harassment, leader and peer efforts to prevent sexual assault and to promote a healthy workplace, and bystander intervention.
