Store Operated Calcium (Ca2+ ) Entry is an Essential Regulator of Cardiac Physiology

Abstract

Calcium (Ca2+) signaling serves as a nodal point in cardiac physiology through regulation of diverse cellular events like excitation-contraction coupling and transcriptional regulation. Accordingly, disrupted Ca2+ homeostasis is known to be a central cause of heart failure pathogenesis. Heart failure is a major global health burden that continues to increase in prevalence worldwide.
