Tracking Trends in Undersea Autonomy

Abstract

The annual Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Student Competition (AUVSC) (now called RoboSub) celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2022. RoboSub has been very successful gauged by the tens of thousands of students who have participated over the years and graduated to productive careers. AUVSC was originally envisioned as a competition in which students learn and practice system engineering, exercise creative problem solving, forge collaborative relationships, and develop interest in autonomous underwater vehicles.
