Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Bypass Initiative

Abstract

WRNMMC lacks a policy to fast-track monitored anesthesia care (MAC) cases through PACU causing increased utilization of resources. Clinical Question or Purpose: In adult outpatient surgery patients, how does a post anesthesia care unit (PACU) bypass system compare to the usual practice of no PACU bypass system, as measured by the length of stay (LOS) for post-operative patients over one month?
