Radio Assault Beacon

Abstract

A Radio Assault Beacon has been developed at the Naval Research Laboratory for guiding an assaulting force along a radial path extending from a transmitting point. To produce an "on-course" beam two directive antennas were lobe switched corresponding to "A-N" keying. Three forms of directive antenna systems were considered and two systems; namely, crossed loops and dual Beverage antennas, were tested.
