This report describes the erection and operation of a pilot unit for the production of type ASC impregnated charcoal. The unit was designed for investigation of the process for preparing type ASC charcoal with commercial type equipment, for preparation of a quantity of the material for early Navy use and the investigation of additional new methods of impregnation and new types of charcoal,
