Abstract

Focus of the Larger Project: Is there a pan-Arabic linguistic culture?; Do culture-specific parameterizations predict responses to social behaviors better than a pan-Arabic parameterization?; What is the degree of linguistic cultural consensus is there with the US?; Does Egypt/Morocco/Arab linguistic culture differ from US-English linguistic culture? If so, how?; Is there a pan-cultural specification that works (almost) as well?; Develop new models that make predictions about the course social interactions within and between cultures before they occur; computer-assisted role playing as a form of cultural competence training; cultural translator.
