Recommendations to Improve IT User Experience Within DoD

Abstract

On 9 May 2022, the Deputy Secretary of Defense (DSD) tasked the Defense Business Board (the Board or the DBB), through its Business Operations Advisory Subcommittee (the Subcommittee), with preparing an independent report (the Report or the Study) to provide recommendations to improve the user experience for basic Information Technology (IT) services within the Department of Defense (the Department or the DoD) on the Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET). The Subcommittee results within this Report specifically focus on IT users ability to efficiently authenticate on the network, access their Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) emails, and effectively use the Microsoft suite of applications and collaboration tools.
