Abstract
This report examines the causes and likely future trends in proxy wars. More specifically, these reports focus on intrastate proxy wars: civil wars in which at least one local warring party receives support from an external state that could be useful for waging armed conflict, such as funding, arms, equipment, advising, training, intelligence, and/or troops.
