Synthesis and Processing of Materials: Directional Recrystallization Processing

Abstract

The goal of this project was to explore how microstructural parameters (solutes, particle size/spacing, texture) interact with the processing conditions (temperature, rate of hot zone movement,) to influence microstructural evolution during directional recrystallization (DR), and thereby gain fundamental understanding of the DR process.
