A Framework for Analyzing Tour Length Policy

Abstract

This paper provides an extensive review of the literature on force retention and readiness. We extend this literature by creating a conceptual framework for evaluating the impact of changing tour lengths on retention and readiness. To that end, we identify a methodology and data for evaluating the model. In addition, we develop a simple simulation model to assess the impact of changing tour lengths.
