A Study to Propose a Model Transfer Agreement between Columbia Hospital of Richland County, Columbia, South Carolina and Rikard Nursing Homes, Lexington, South Carolina

Abstract

This study undertook to provide a model transfer agreement between the Columbia Hospital of Richland County, Columbia, South Carolina and the Rikard Nursing Homes, Lexington, South Carolina. Data was gathered by means of interviews, personal observation, and a review of pertinent literature. The study included the mechanics of extended medical care and some of the practical problems in the implementation of this concept. Three approaches to, and the type of, transfer agreement was discussed. It was concluded that the best arrangement between these two institutions would be a new agreement containing detail and specifics. A recommended agreement was included in the study as an appendix.
