Application of Harp for the Elimination of the Altitude Line

Abstract

A study has been made of the effectiveness of Harp material in eliminating the altitude line from the AN/APS-6 radar. Flight tests showed that the line may be completely removed for this installation without impairing the normal functions of the radar. It has also been shown that absorbing material which has a power reflection coefficient of 10 percent or less is adequate for this purpose.
