Glare Reduction of Low Reflection Coatings on Instrument Windows

Abstract

The object of this problem was to investigate the glare reduction properties of low-reflection coatings as applied to sample transparent materials for use on instrument windows. External, general, illumination of the instruments was assumed. The effectiveness of such coatings in reducing glare will depend mainly on the angle of incidence of the reflected glare source and on the freedom of the surface from oil or other deleterious subsantances.
