Antenna Feeds for Tracking Radars

Abstract

The dependence of angle and range sensitivities of a tracking radar on the design of antenna feed is studied. Several configurations of four-lobe and five-lobe feeds are considered with simultaneous or sequential lobing. It is shown that there is a crossover at which the angle sensitivity, but not in general the range sensitivity, is a maximum.
