Cyber Threats and Engagements in 2022

Abstract

Global Risks to Europe and Africa can be defined by stressors: geopolitical fragmentation stressors, societal stressors, environmental stressors, economic stressors, and technological stressors. Technology trends that are affecting global risks are AI powered search engines, post-quantum cryptography, fifth-generation advanced mobile network technology, blockchain gaming, and financial technology. Threat actors can be nations and states, and cyber criminals. Hackers are shifting their focus from individuals to organizations as they attempt to cause maximum disruption, and global cyberattacks rose by 38 percent in 2022 compared to the previous year. Top attack vectors are ransomware, backdoors, and phishing. The report also lists Top Cloud Threats, Vulnerabilities and Risks.
