A Platform for AI and Deep Learning

Abstract

The major goals of this project are to establish a deep learning platform at St. Mary's University so as to enhance the university's capacity for research and technical training in the area of deep machine learning. This will be accomplished by purchasing fourteen AMAX servers,, two AMAX clusters and the associated power distribution units. This equipment was situated into a space dedicated for this purpose and renovated to upgrade the cooling, air circulation and power systems necessary to support the system. Upon completion of the installation, the system was made available for research projects led by St. Mary's faculty and engaging St. Mary's students. The PI developed a webpage through which faculty and students could learn about the platform and how to access it.
