Hierarchical Bayesian Models for Assessing Reliability

Abstract

This report provides an overview of hierarchical Bayesian modeling for reliability assessment. A basic model form is introduced first to aid in understanding, followed by a more complex form that can be tailored for multiple applications. Models are provided for both continuous and discrete systems. Example applications are shown for each model, which provides an understanding of the benefits of these techniques to current acquisition programs.
