Red Versus Blue: The Joint Force Maritime Component Commander's (JFMCC) Efforts to Deter China's Global Influence

Abstract

To counter China's global influence, the JFMCC must explicitly integrate planning with the JFACC and JFLCC while also exploiting the cyber domain. Although sea control and sea denial have been key to some U.S. victories in war, maritime superiority now necessitates integrated planning in air, land, and cyber environments. Can the Joint Force Maritime Component Commander (JFMCC) alone counter China's malign military presence outside of China' s borders and immediate periphery?
