An I-F Signal Simulator for Monopulse Radars

Abstract

The development of i-f amplifiers for use in the TAB radar system requires controlled adjustment and accurate measurement of phase angles at the radar i-f. An i-f signal simulator has been developed capable of establishing or measuring phase angles with a calibrated accuracy of 2, or 2.5 percent of the involved angle, whichever figure is the smaller. A Phase sensitivity of 0.1 is realized. This performance is obtained by means of a calibrated 360 phase shift condenser.
