Corneal Laser Refractive Surgery Curriculum Development in the Military

Abstract

Corneal laser refractive surgery (CRS), otherwise known as laser vision correction, includes eye procedures such as laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK), photorefractive keratectomy (PRK), and small-incision lenticule extraction (SMILE), which aim to rid people of their prescription glasses. As CRS is becoming more prevalent and has become a valuable component of military combat readiness, this thesis aims to develop a standardized curriculum for CRS training in the military.
