Today's Army Spouse Panel Methodology: 2018 and 2022 Cohorts

Abstract

The intention of the Todays Army Spouse Panel (TASP) is to have a sample representative of the population of U.S. Army spouses in terms of pay grade, whether or not they have dependent children, and whether they have an address within the continental United States or outside it. We will refresh the ongoing TASP by recruiting new members every other year, with a particular focus on adding spouses of newly enlisted soldiers and junior officers. We plan to reweight the panel against an annually drawn population to ensure that the sample of participating spouses continues to represent the population of active-component Army spouses.
