Simulator for Data Relay Navigation-Carrier Controlled Approach (DARN-CCA) System

Abstract

A Link Instrument Flying Training has been equipped with electronic circuits to simulate in the laboratory the operation of the Data Relay Navigation-Carrier Controlled Approach (DARN-CCA) system. The simulator has applications to carrier landings and to pilot training; it can easily be modified to future developments and employed to determine pilot reaction in the laboratory. Details of circuits and operation are given/ Photographs of the pilot's B-scan CRT indicator show one method of data presentation.
